The death of Anne “Het Lot” Beenhakker

Silent en secluded, seemingly calm, a small pack’s Alpha. It is “Het Lot”, our Elder Ahroun. He stays out of sight, in such a way, that the young wolves of the Bluepelt Sept challenged him. This is our way, and it is good. An Ahroun that’s no example, shouldn’t carry the title of Elder. Oh, but how mistaken these young wolves are! When the fight was there, it was “Het Lot” who charged into the fray! With claws as razors and teeth as daggers, he wrecked through the darkness that threatened us! As his band of warriors bled, he took the blows like a true warrior of Gaia. And when the power of the final, filthiest bane was too much for the pack, he struck once more. Without hesitation, he sacrificed his life to do what he was bred for: fight the Wyrm, wherever it dwells, wherever it breeds. And in this, he shows us what is takes to be not just an Ahroun, but to be named the Elder Ahroun.

Now these young wolves, and old ones alike for that matter, take his actions to heart. His words might not be many, but his actions spoke a thousand fold. May one of you bear the honour of following him in his footsteps. May your challenges be many and your death a glorious one. And above all, remember that you don’t need to be loud to be a true hero of Gaia.
