The canadians

Since a couple of months, there are a group of Canadians hanging around the Real Green. These include Brian, a computer genius who seems to have befriended Maureen because of their common interest in computers. These canadians claim to have a shop together in 't Woudt, a small hamlet near Schipluiden.

Since Augustus, 2007 these canadians are suspects of Secuur and they have involved several Garou in their resistance against Secuur. They have at least blown up two Secuur outposts.

There is something odd with these people. They know of Garou and call them 'special' people, but claim to not be special themselves. They're not kinfolk for sure, but what they are and whether the Garou of Delft can trust them, is unknown.

Information from Maureen

Because of what happened this month Juli, 2008, I feel obliged to be honest here.

We, the Wandering Mystics have dealt a lot with these people, and now they have betrayed us, so the deal is off in every way, all I can do is be honest so we can solve the trouble they're causing right now.

They helped us and we helped them, together we dealt with the troubles of Secuur, the leeches and the holes in the Umbra. The truth was, they needed us for something else than these troubles. Their race has been put down and driven into hiding by us, the Garou, in the past. They are Bastet, catlike changelings, almost everybody knows that now, although I have kept it a secret for a long time because they asked me to.

They are a race of Gaia, like us they protect nature, the Wyld places and the creatures of Gaia against the Wyrm (The Unmaker). But since they lost their connection with Her, I personally helped them to regain a Marker with a rite to summon an aspect of Gaia, a talen or fetish from a lost Totem of their Race. Of course they wanted this Marker badly, it could help them to regain something of the spiritual nature of their race that was lost. This Marker was already in the hands of Stalks the Wyld, a lupus packmate of mine, who tends to wander a lot and find all sorts of things.

I told them and Stalks (because he wasn't sure whether to give it or not) could give it to them if they won a challenge for it. We helped them, we had the item, all I demanded was that they respect who we are and win a challenge. They are very capable of holding their own, so I didn't see any problem with them winning this challenge. But they didn't want to respect our ways and didn't challenge him right there and then.

Next month, Stalks was on one of his wanderings, so we couldn't give them the item or they couldn't challenge for it anyway.

The two next months thereafter we were lost in the Scar and Rage realm where of course, they couldn't challenge Stalks again.

This month, Stalks was AGAIN on one of his wanderings and although I tried very hard to find him, I couldn't bring him to come and do the stupid challenge.

I apologized to them, but they were already threatening with disturbing the rest of the souls of my dead packmates Lightning-Caller and Francisco so when they offered a trade for an equally important item so they could be sure we'd keep our promise, I decided that I didn't let myself be threatened by them anymore. They are dying without the Marker, so it is really understandible they are angry and upset, but the path they choose this month is not right.

One of them kept me busy in the bar, I don't really recall much of that except for a lot of wodka. Then when I got back on the Caern, we heard about a woman wounded in the bar. I raced back, my head clearer now, and it was my kinfolk friend, that was the potential mate of Lightning-Caller and the Canadians had really roughed her up and hurt her. We could barely save her, she almost died in my arms and they had another kinfolk captive and threatened to kill and hurt more of our families if they didn't get the item soon.

We tried to talk to them more, but the leading bitch, Mika, all nice looks and cuddles when she needs you (also having some gifts to make you trust her, so be careful) is seeing betrayals in all my actions. Brian, their computer Genius, once a very close friend... he is more reasonable. The others, they are only listening to Mika. They fled when we came there in force to have them face the consequences of what they did to our kinfolk.

For me they crossed the line. They are insane and falling back on the ways of the Wyrm. What do Garou do when the Wyrm threatens their families? We do not give in, we fight.
